I've wanted to have a disk sander in my shop for a while now, but having a hard time justifying the cost to get one. I've picked up few motors over the last couple years after watching YouTube channels that build their own machines for their shops. Especially Matthias (https://youtube.com/c/Matthiaswandel) and John (https://youtube.com/c/JohnHeisz).
Here is a picture of the built disk sander in it's new home (for now in my shop it may get moved or adjusted as I still need to add a shroud and dust collection).
I snapped a few pictures alnong the way. Basically I started with a 1700 rpm Craftsman motor from an old bandsaw and built the disk sander up around it.
