After finally getting a Veritas MK II sharpening jig I decided to practice my box making and dovetailing by making box to hold the jig and the attatchments I picked up for it.
I got the Veritas Mk.II Deluxe Honing Guide Set from Woodcraft which included the wide and narrow roller and the length setting thingie. Later I went back to Woodcraft and picked up the skew length setter so that I could sharpen my skew chisels. |
I went to my stash of cherry in the rough and milled it down to rough lengths.

I split some of the longer boards that I had in half at the band-saw, to make the lid and the bottoms of the box and glued them up.

showing off the dovetail corners. I'm quite happy with them! Best ones I've cut so far! (Not that I've cut a lot, but I'm still quite happy with them!)
Finished shot.
