After woodworking for a couple years now I figured I should build a proper work bench. I wanted it to double as an out feed table for my table saw.
I started by cutting up some 2x4s and gluing them up to make the bench top.
Then I worked on the base of the bench.
Attached the top to the base by cutting Morris in the top and Tenoning the legs through the top.
I also some drawers that god under the bench.
I made a vice based on a vice that Pask Makes made on his YouTube channel.
Nothing like a dirty work bench to show off that it works. In hindsight I wish I’d made the top a little thicker, and the bench a little heavier overall so that it moved less when I’m using it. I still have plans to add some weight to it to keep it from moving when I’m using it for hand planing.
I’d love to upgrade the vice with a Veritas Twin Screw vice or one of Andrew Kline’s fancy vices.
